All About the 18th Indiana Light Artillery

Both yesterday, and today

The 18th Indiana Light Artillery was established in 1862 by Eli Lilly of the Lilly Pharmaceutical Company. From his shop in Greencastle, IN. Lilly rounded up men to fight for the Union's great cause and traveled to Indianapolis, where we would given command of a new Battery, dubbed the 18th Indiana Light Artillery. Lilly and his men would travel across the country, fighting in some of the largest engagements of the War, such as Chickamauga, Knoxville, and the entire Atlanta Campaign.

Today, the 18th Indiana Light Artillery is portrayed by men and women from across the Midwest, where we strive to tell the stories of the brave men who fought during the great war bewteen the states. With accurate drill, uniforms, and weaponry, we are proud of the efforts we take to preserve the incredible history and are always continuing our preservation, and historic interpretation efforts.
